Note these are LTH disks which use an organic die unlike normal BD-R which use inorganic die. These are cheaper to manufacture because they can be made using the same process as CD-R and DVD-R but their long term reliability will likely be compromised as the organic dies fade over time. On a blu-ray disk there's alot more data than a cd or dvd. That means a much higher probability of errors developing over time. That's why the initial spec called for inorganic dies to ensure better longevity and reliability. These LTH disks came about by companies wanting to lower their cost to produce BD-R by using already existing production facilities without having to retool.
Your point is well taken, and these listings perhaps should indicate whether the media is LTH or not.
