Verizon Broadband is offering the FIOS Triple Play with FIOS TV, Internet, and Phone for $85/month for one year. Includes a free multi-room DVR for 12 months, plus wireless router and premium installation.
best TV service out there. in NY area; have tried DirectTV, and the local cablevision. verizon wins hands down. the remote and menu screens are set up much more intuitively than competitors.
I called Frontier (who I guess bought up Verizon's stuff here in Oregon, or something) and I qualify for FIOS.
Me: fine, hook me up. Them: let's do a credit check. Me: WTF why, I'm not signing a contract. Them: for the expensive equipment we're going to put in your house. Me: fine, I'll buy me some equipment, what's it cost? Them: not for sale. Me: I'll stick with Comcast.
Not everyone is as emo about handing out their SSN and DOB and such as I am, but for those that are, Frontier is baconnaise.
You know what FIOS can bite me. the cost is not worth it. Unless you have a ton of PC's downloading 24/7. Most people will make it on 1.5mbps to 3mbps just fine. Even naked DSL is $30/mo and comcasts basic service is $40 for the same speed. What a rip.

Nice stable service & #2 said you can't buy that equipment & I think the rental fees range from $7 - $22 a month per TV.
If all you do is sit on bensbargains all day then yes 1.5mbps to 3mbps is just fine.
