      The union goons would perfer you to stick with the POTS lines. Much better chance of failure which requires union worker maintenance. Plus the cost involved in training long term middle aged employees something new isn't something the unions & workers would want to do.

      ^ Disagree, my CATV line has gone down at least 10X as often. POTS are designed with low bandwidth so that contact degradation doesn't effect SNR enough to matter much while with (today's digital) CATV transmissions, any random connector among hundreds can put it out of service.
