Verizon Broadband is offering the FIOS Double Play with FIOS TV and Internet for $75/month for six months. Includes a wireless router and premium installation.
I have AT&T DSL service, which does have data caps, so I don't have familiarity with Verizon's service. Consider yourself lucky, Verizon's service looks a lot better to me than what AT&T offers.
The small print:
"For one year after TV rebate. Plus taxes and fees. 2-year DIRECTV agmt. required. Speeds .5 to 1 Mbps."
Let's dissect that, shall we?
"For one year after TV rebate." Two of the most evil words in the English language: "AFTER REBATE"
"2-year DIRECTV agmt. required" So you're offering me a one-year deal in exchange for atwo-year commitment?
"Speeds .5 to 1 Mbps." That's megaBITS, not megaBYTES. Am I supposed to me impressed?
Do they have a data cap? If so, what is it?
The triple is cheaper than the double? Huh?
#2, according to the FAQ page for FIOS at Verizon, there are no data caps, see http://www.fiosfaq.com/content.php?contentid=309 However, Verizon reserves the right to "monitor" your service if they see suspicious usage, see http://www.fiosfaq.com/content.php?contentid=27

Anyone else care to comment on #2's question?
I had Fios for a few years before moving and having to give it up for Craptastic Comcast service.
I've moved close to 2TB in one month before and never heard a peep from them. Having 50Mb/s down and 20Mb/s made those gigs tick off mighty quickly.
