I got this. It's a bit heavy and a bit thick. It requires hacking as the included OS is crippled and slow. It also does not have access to Android market without hacking. The display also has sub-par viewing angles. However, after you get it set up, it's not too bad. The 2 core CPU makes it pretty fast and the touch screen is pretty responsive. It's not too bad if you don;t want to spend >$300 and are willing to tinker.
I owned this tablet for 2.5 hours before I repacked and returned it. Do not FALL for this. Unlike a laptop ... a tablet needs to have very good viewing angles (because of the ways in which we hold them). This one is worse than the cheapest laptop !
Even after reading my comment ... if you still buy this ... then you should see a shrink.
I would not buy this tablet even if it was $99 ! Well I would buy it and try to pawn it to some gullible buyer out there. I would never *use* this tablet because of the flaw.
Would you buy a car if the windshield was opaque ... and there was no way to rectify it?
YouTube ...Viewing angle compared to the iPad ... but the same result will be seen if you compare the G-Tablet with any other current tablet (Samsung/Acer/Asus etc.etc.)
The viewing angle is not great, but it is manageable. If you are going to use the software that comes installed on the tablet, then I would not recommend this item. If you wish to spend an hour of time though, rooting the device and installing one of the many home brewed ROMs, then I cannot recommend it enough. The hardware specs of this device, especially for ~ $250, are truly awesome. I bought one 2 weeks ago and could not be happier.
I bought one of these (waiting for it to arrive), going to install vegantab7 or gtabcomb 3tons of youtube tutorials on the gtab seems to be a very popular platform.
I had one for a short time, rooted with vegantab 7. The speed and responsiveness were awesome. However, I like to read in bed a lot and the viewing angle wasn't conducive for me to just prop it up and forget it; it had to be at just the right angle. I know Viewsonic doesn't build this, but I still find it ironic that a manufacturer of some very good monitors put their name on a tablet with such a restrictive screen. Looking from straight on, it's a thing of beauty.

This is a decent tablet for the price. The complaints about the viewing angles are very overblown.
