Update: eBay with Tiger Direct has it for $300 with free shipping.
$47 price drop. Circuit City has the Viewsonic G Tablet 10" Android Tablet for $340 - $40 off with coupon code KGT24484 [Exp 3/28] + $7 shipping = $307 shipped.
1.0Ghz NVIDIA Tegra 2 CPU, 16GB Storage, 802.11b/g/n, Bluetooth
10" multi-touch LCD, Google Android OS 2.2 OS, 10 hour battery
Drop the price down to $250 and this would probably be the best "budget" tablet out there. Currently you can get a Nook Color for $250 (sometimes on sale through ebay for $200) and root it to run Android 2.2 (there's an Android 3.0 install as well but it's a bit buggier right now). At $250 I'd jump on this but it's still a decent tablet for $300.
#4 It was a weird day: 10000 units sold. Kind of wonder what's going on with Viewsonic and Amazon/Woot. Lot's of speculation that something not great is happening (major returns from retailers?). One concern was that a new firmware was on these units, and that it wouldn't mix well with available ROMs. So far early reports indicate that's not happening.
I was going to get the Viewsonic G, but read too many reports of poor screen viewing angles. I bought the Nook Color instead and rooted it. No regrets.

Bought this from Woot on Wednesday for $285.... can't wait for it to arrive!
In my case, add another $25 for tax.
#2 I did the Woot too. What time did you order? I jumped in at 6:30pm, which means mine will be the last to ship! I'm excited too.
i regret not jumping on the woot deal.

The new Android OS , Honeycomb, designed for tablets just came out. I wonder if it has something to do with the price drop.
299 IPad is too good to pass up, quality and os are way better on iPad, IMHO.

#5, i agree. sort of suspicions that they are already being discounted right after being release to the market.
Not expired. The link still works. Sold By Tiger Direct. But then again maybe I didn't refresh my window.
