    I don't see Windows 7 support mentioned, so don't assume it. Also, 20+ seconds per sheet is slooooow. And to complete the perfect crap-storm, it's a refurb.

    #1 maybe you should check before assuming.. Windows 7 drivers are online for download.

    As for refurb.. if your scared of that you should never ever go out into the real world.

    Refurbs might be okay for some electronics but these things got a lot of moving parts. I don't ever trust refurbed HDD for the same reason.

    I bought refurb from newegg lasrt week works great on windows 7x64.
    just go to visioneer website and download drivers and one touch so
    ftware.

    You won't wear out the moving parts in a scanner any time soon, the bigger issue with a refurb here is why it is refurb'd. Might be something like buggy drivers that don't install or work properly on all OS versions they're supposed to.

    The speed does seem kind of slow, but probably due to the limited amount of power available on the USB bus.

    I wouldn't worry about the seemingly low resolution though, this type of scanner is mainly suited for scanning text documents, the color fidelity and depth of focus make it suboptimal for other uses where you're more likely to want higher than 1200DPI.
