burp you Ben. I just bought this card yesterday for $150. Your timing is impeccable.
Not Ben's fault. rodeo cowboy.
#3, kick number 1 in the nuts.
Tell seymour to move his head out of the way.
rodeo cowboy.
#1, return it.
Anyone know how good this one really is? I used to use the All-In-Wonder until I bought an set-top HD tuner. I miss it though, and want a card that can do Tivo well in my computer, is this what I want, or is there perhaps anything cheaper? It must have a hi-def output for my TV, preferably component.
I use the Hauppauge WinTV 1600. I have three currently installed in my Vista Media Center. All three work together just fine. I only use them for ATSC. Works well. You don't even need to download any drivers as Vista finds them via Vista Update. This only works in VMC with OTA or analog cable though. For clear QAM you'll need to use other software. The included Hauppauge software sucks. I also use DVico Fusion cards as well, but the Hauppauge are trouble free.
This is a good card, just expensive like the Fusions. The Hauppauge's are currently only $80 at CC.
If I were anywhere close to you, jwahooo, I would give you the beating your father never gave you. I live near Atlanta, where are you, fat burp?
I have the ATI version, HD channels come in nicely my card still makes vista lock up occasionally.
does this decode digital signals... I have 260 digital channels going to my cable box, this might be handy.
it can do some clear A QAM channels but that is it. ATI also makes a digital cable recorder box, but they are pricey and you have to buy from with a computer from sony or dell etc
#8, it's called ClearQAM and yes it supports it. Problem is, only some cable providers support ClearQAM on some channels in some areas.
In other words, no one here can answer your question. I can tell you for sure you WONT get all 260 channels. Maybe a few of the basic ones. If you're really interested in an answer, call your local cable company.
Ah screw it. I think I'll return my $150 card and get the Hauppage 1800 card from newegg for $89. Better card, cheaper..
I'm bald... what do I need a comb filter for?
too bad my expansion slots are full with 8800ultras
