Kinda tempting to waste my money on a widescreen... too bad this is only 720p, but at this size it probably doesn't matter.

720p is POS; one would want 1080p with hdmi to be used as lcd monitor especially at 32"

Using it as a monitor 3 feet away sounds about right. If using it as a TV only then 1080p is useless. If using it on a PC with DVI/HDMI then it's nice to have the higher resolution... but not necessary or anything.

Talked to a friend of mine that works for a trucking company and he is constantly loading up Vizio's from Wal-Mart's to take back to be serviced.

1080p is worth it if you are going to use it as a computer monitor. Even close up. 720p is good enough if you're going to use it as a TV only.

This would be ideal for the den or bedroom or as a 2nd/3rd in the living room Wink

I have a 32" 720p as a computer monitor and it rocks! Not perfect for large spreadsheets and the new office with the ribbon bar taking a third or more of your desktop at that resolution, but for everything else it is awesome. Very easy to read at native res. and on games it doesnt kill your framerate. I can turn on EVERYTHING with my 8800gt on games... even crysis and it plays great.
1080p is for suckers... unless you really have a need for it.

#7 I know someone who works at walmart. people are returning them because they dont include the proper cables.. Meaning the HDMI.. People return a ~$400 tv because they are too cheap to buy a cable. Its true.

I worked at Circuit City as a customer service person for years, and you would be shocked at why people brought tv's back. Numerous people returned them saying they never powered on. Yea, it's because they didn't plug it in. They didn't know the power cord got plugged into the tv AND the wall.

#15.. maybe those people kinda forgot? I mean you plug something like a tv or fridge into the socket once and you forget about it. Then you just push the power button. So in a weird way, I think *some* people could feasibly forget.

Of those people, maybe some would actually look at an instruction manual and think "duh! I forgot to plug it in". Whoever is left will be the bulbs that aren't the brightest and will pack and bring a tv back.

#18, hmmm, 1080p on a 32" panel? what kind of dumbass are you? do you have eagle eye or something that you can decypher the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 32" panel? I know you are trying to sound like you stay with updated stuff, but that just makes you sound dumb...

Maybe I'm wrong but most broadcasts aren't above 720p anyway. So I assume that when a 1080i/p tv receives a 720p, it must upconvert it to the higher resolution? If this is the case then the quality of the picture of broadcasts might be better on a 720p television today than a 1080i/p tv given that there is no upconversion being done on the signal. So for those of you not buying into the blu-ray hype 720p should be sufficient.
