i don't care for the vostro case or the port layouts but if its cheap enough i guess it doesn't matter
if u r looking for cheap laptop check fry's com - they have amd dual-core, 1gb, 120 gb fro like $400

The vostro line is infinitely better than their inspiron line.
I thought that:
Vostro 1000 = Inspiron 1525
Vostro 1400 = Inspiron 1420
Vostro 1500 = Inspiron 1520
Vostro 1700 = Inspiron 1720
The differences are case color, OS options "xp" and Vostro have faster CPU options.
If I am wrong please take me to school.

dell is good for the price in general. when there's a deal, that makes it even a better choice.
