the $399 Vostro 1000 deal is much much better than this.. this is not worth the extra $200
Picked up pretty much this same configuration Vostro on the a previous posting and i was pretty surprised by the quality of the notebook. Not superlight but this is a solid build for Dell's budget series laptop. Has clear lcd and pretty fast boot times into WinXP Home. Avoid Vista Basic. Would recommend this for anyone looking for a quick, cheap laptop. Added webcam and bluetooth. Make sure to get the 6-cell battery if you are going to carry it around alot as the 9-cell is pysically bigger and will make the notebook heavier.
