EXACT same half assed price and half assed configuration and half assed 1.4 processor for over a month now.

What is this, Ben's Half-Assed Repeat Bargains ?? Don't put this baconnaise up again unless it's got a damn coupon code to go with it. Oh wait, AND the coupon code isn't already passed the number of uses.

If you buy this system, do remember to upgrade the CPU speed to higher. At 1.4GHz, the system is kind of under performed.

#3, same price with a SXGA+ screen and 8400GS video card. Something above 1.4g c2d would also qualify as full assed.

Yeah this really isn't a good price at all for the config, you could go to an in store retailer and get a better config with a price thats close at the same time usually being ripped off by the store...

Seriously, if there's another Core2 Duo deal with 15" screen & 2GB RAM for less than $600, I'd love to know about it, since I'm definitely in the market for one.

      This deal is not "expired."
Most of the big store c2d basic computers have the T5250 proc. which is 1.5 ghz, while the basic Dell has the T5270 @ 1.4ghz.
The big store laptops pretty much always involve 1 or more rebates. Dell does not do rebates which is a GOOD thing.
      JUST SAY NO TO REBATES!!!

We got one of these for x-mas when the deal was $599. Upgraded to the Geforce 8400m video card (and 3 year warranty) and it plays Call of Duty 4 surprisingly well. The response time of the LCD isn't that great though: we see the horizontal lines every once in a while when playing the game. Anyway, we didn't buy this as a gaming machine and it's more than adequate for most tasks with the 1.4 Ghz proc. I personally think it looks better than the ugly Inspiron's as well.

Jake, Where have you seen a better C2D deal with 2gb ram, dvd burner, 160gb hard drive, etc for $550? ANY C2D deal at that price with those specs? We would all want it to be cheaper, but be flipping realistic.
