Why does dell need two netbooks. Well, three.. ITs got the mini 10, mini 9, vostro 8.9", then theres still the Mini 12 if you want to count that as four. I can get the desire for 9, 10, and 12 inch models, but why two different 9" models?

Yeah it's the same as the Mini 9 but in all black. This seems like a pretty good deal to me, need to be specific if you claim you can get more for less. Obviously you can get more in the laptop category but the whole point of a netbook is that less is more.

#8, my statement was made when Ben had the price incorrectly at $300+. At this price it's better but still not that great.

Ah ok. Yeah this is not great but pretty good, just a bit too much for me after tax. $199 would have done it. Unfortunately theyd probably hide that deal in the outlet with hard to find configs and coupon codes.

i swooped on this deal when it came around last month. it runs osx beautifully, sound, networking, sleep, graphics, all great.

my main gripe is with the keyboard. it takes some getting used to, and even then, it's still pretty small for my hands, and the apostrophe is in a weird location next to the left arrow. typing notes in class gets tedious with all the typos, but i used it to study with all this week and it's a great little machine if you're reading instead of writing.

and in one week i probably got 10 comments on how cool and small it is.

battery life on 10 .5 .7 is 4-4.5 hours with brightness turned down.

as far as disk space, i have a 16gb ssd and i have 2.7gb free right now with ms office and all my other basic apps installed. removed languages, extra printer drivers from osx to recover some space. for music, i use simplify media to stream itunes from my home desktop.

overall i'd say do it if you want something fantastically light and portable (and if you have a beast of a desktop back home to do real stuff on)

long post but i hope it someone finds it useful

I got a spotless 'scratch and dent' xp Mini 9 for $200 back in Feb. I don't see that this is a great deal.
