dont buy vtech phones they break after a few months
Depends on which Vtech phone #1. I've gotten some from Ben's deals that were FAR and worth about that, but I also have some AT&T DECT6 that are not only made by but virtually identical to a Vtech model besides minor cosmetic trim changes and they've worked great for well over a year so far.
I wouldn't put them in the same league as Panasonic, but they are better than Uniden or GE's DECT6 sets and priced fairly competitively though will all of them it's nicer to get a multi-handset, set instead of just one. Cost of addt'l handsets when bundled with the phone is usually less than the cost of the battery pack alone.
There's one area where the Vtechs are costly in the long run, that with the Panasonics you can just buy a $5 pair of AAA NiMH when the battery wears out instead of the $20 Vtech pack which is just a pair of 550mA AAA shrinkwrapped with a standard yet uncommon (outside of phone usage) plug on it.
Vtech phones are junk
