    This is a black edition and is a shame if used in a usb enclosure. You could however pull out your existing drive to use with the enclosure and use this as your os boot drive.

    Pdok, why do you say there is no 5 year warranty. It's my understanding that all WD Blacks come with standard 5 year warranty.

    Says drive as system does not benefit as fully from tech improvements as their 2TB drives, but not a bad drive!

    Drive available alone around $80

    #3, it's interesting with GoHardDrive. They have two listings of this drive on their website last time I checked, one is cheaper with a 3 year warranty, one is more expensive with a 5 year warranty. Don't know if WD had a questionable batch they produced and sold it to GoHardDrive, kind of weird. I would only stick to 5 year warranty Black drives personally.
