The is a WD 1 TB black that Apple uses in their newer Mac Pro as an option startup drive. Actually, I have had it as a startup drive in one of my Mac Pros for about a year now with no issues. Is it slightly slower than the 500 GB drive? Yes, but what do you expect given the RELATIVELY speaking slower pace that SATA drives are being evolved technologically. This is a good drive and the price is good, too. Did I buy of of these from Best Buy a couple of weeks ago? Yes, I did and it is still in the box but I don't remember how much I paid for it... That is something that you can check the history to find out.
