I agree with you number 2 but this really isn't much of a deal with numerous 1TB drives going for around $50. Look for the Spinpoint 1TB as an example.
ah #3, this is a SATA 6.0 Gb/s, which is suppose to be faster than the 3.0 Gb/s that you're talking about.
These are high end black drives #3. They carry a 5 year warranty and have an extra 32 MB cache. The WD Caviar 1TB blue have been on sale for about that price as well.
#1, that deal was for the older model 32 MB cache version, this is the 64 MB cache. Still was a phenominal deal tho.
Don't think it matter that these are SATA 6.0 Gb/s rated, because they will probably never come close to filling up SATA 3.0Gb/s bandwidth in single drive configurations, and most SSD's currently on the market won't fill it up either, but will soon w/ new generations being released in the near future.
Wasn't 1.5TB on sale for 10 bucks more. Same server grade black.
