I have one of these. The drive is not real loud but the vibration from the drive raddled my computer case so bad that the side panels make a very load buzz. If I could get rid of this drive I would because of the vibration it makes. Of coarse I am not happy about this drive.
Also like other reviews have said, the 6.0Gb/s is useless for the most part. I have upgraded my motherboard so it supports the 6.0Gb/s and I do not notice any difference in read/write performance with this drive. THE BUZZING NOISE IS DRIVING NUTS!!!
#2, side panel buzz is easy to get rid of, either slightly flex the panels so they fit tighter, bend out spring tabs on the case frame meant to stop vibrations if so equipped, or when all else fails put some masking tape where the play in the seam is, not over it but rather on the mating area before the side panel is put back on.
