    I have one of these drives, haven't had any problems. And yes you can always lose data due to a hard drive failure. Smart people with data worth saving back it up.

    Almost peed my pants when I saw this but then saw it was 1tb.
    Need 4 2tb drives for my NAS.
    Going to upgrade from 4tb to 8tb on my WDSHARESPACE NAS.

    I was able to recover the drive using the win7 cd and chkdsk /r I still plan on replacing the drive.
