3 yr warranty. Also excellent for expanding TiVo HD (internal) and S3 (internal or external) recording capacity.

Don't buy WD drives, thay're utter crap. 4 years ago I had 7 out of 7 WD drives die on me within the first year of purchase. Recently I was tempted again by 2 WD drives and I bought them a month ago. One of them died in the first 24 hours. I sent it back for RMA and they sent me back another drive which was bad out-of-the-box. Since then I've been trying to contact WD again so they replace it but they don't reply to my emails anymore.

And just a couple hours ago, the other drive died too.

What good is a 3-year or 5-year warranty if they send bad replacements or refuse to honor it altogether?

maybe #5 should invest in some case fans and move the gigantic magnets away from their computer.

#6, yeah, the DOA drive was because of my giant magnets for sure.

Perhaps the other HDD brands have solved the problem of giant magnets, none of them seems to have any trouble here.

    #1, doesn't the PS3 require a 2.5"/notebook drive?

    Isn't this a 3.5"/desktop drive?

Good external drive for the Scientific Atlanta SA8300HD HD DVR as well as the TIVO. Put it into an Antec MX-1 or Vantec NexStar-3 case (the later is fanless and it will run hot unless well-ventilated, so the MX-1 may be a better choice) and you'll be watching recorded HD until the cows come home.
