$0.23/GB is a decent price. I'm just waiting for HDD storage to be cheaper than DVD storage.

    750G for $170 ... or .... 1TB for $350.
You could raid two of these for the same price of the Seagate!

BF is coming and so this deal doesn't look as hot. but not everyone is gonna be able to get their hands on the hhd at BF. so if you're not camping out for BF, then go for this one.

Thats a lot of data to lose when this drive crashes - like all the other WDs I've ever owned.

#11 ... Stop kicking your computer when you get killed in BF2 and maybe your drives will last longer?

** For $50 a year, get your carbonite online backup.

BEN, hook everyone up with a good carbonite deal?? Maybe??

WD's a good name... As far as their external drives I've never had a problem with them so I'd be willing to shell out the 170 for it but that is a hell of a lot to loose in the event something does happen. Good point #11, didnt really think of that.

If you aren't backing your stuff up, well, that's life. Buy two and mirror to the second.

    Check out the specs:

I haven't seen any good Black Friday deals on very large drives. Staples will have a Seagate 400GB SATA for $60 and Best Buy an external 500GB Seagate for $100, but that's all I've seen thus far. Are there some BF deals that feature 750GB and 1T drives?

I have 2 of these in 400GB and they are fast. Have WD changed their policy on warrenty? The retail drives used to only carry 1 year, and OEM carries 3 years.

#18 - This particular drive uses PMR. Your 400GB drives do not. Even though they're both still called SE16 and the model names end in AAKS, this 750GB version has the PMR technology, which dramatically increases performance.

This drive comes with a 3-year warranty.
