#1: yeah, you've got to be very careful with these newegg open box sales.

Most people don't realize how easy it is to get dust inside of these hard drives.

Didn't one of the majors used to sell a HDD with a clear top on it? Can't remember who but it was a lot more expensive for an effect that a $1 piece of polycarbonate would've done too if it weren't for the dust getting in if you tried to DIY.

Yep, those were the old WD Raptors. They had a model with a clear top.
