Yeah, this is what a 160 sold for a few months ago. But I still hate rebates.

Just say no to rebates. NewEgg has the Seagate 250GB 7200.12 for that price, if you'd like to trade 70GB for the rebate.

Anybody want to trade some bacon for a stack of barely used IHOP's pancakes?

I don't see how this is supposed to be a deal, even after the rebate. I just got a 1TB WD green drive for $79 from the egg with a free HDD dock. Even without the dock it was still a lot better deal than this. I sold the dock for $20 and ended up getting the HDD for a little less than $57 after BCB.

#5 why would the average user pay for a drive that they won't even come close to using 1/4 of when they can purchase this for $40 less. $40 saved is still $40 saved. Get out of your own little world.

Keep in mind I am no where near the average user so I am not biased. My home server is over 10TB's.

Because the average user these days will use a lot more than 320GB during the life of the drive. Get out of 2005.

Depends on how you define average user. Average PC user, probably not, I see plenty of systems with half the hard drive empty and the drive is only 200GB or less.

Power buyer shopping here and installing it themselves is a different kind of average user.
