ZipZoomFly has the Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive for $89 - $15 rebate [Exp 10/31] + $0 shipping = $74 shipped. These drives use less power and operate at lower temperatures and acoustics than standard desktop drives.

Rebate is in the form of a stupid prepaid Visa debit card, which cannot be used for cash advance. AND, the "No wait rebate" option will knock $3 off the rebate amount.

I raided 4 of these together and get 220MB/s speed. about the same speed as one OCZ Vertex drive but at much less cost and 15x the storage space.

Ben's back to touting the after rebate price as "shipped". If you don't get your rebate, knock on Ben's door for your money.

If you knock on Bensie's door all that you will hear is OINK OINK1 OINK2 ...

Bensie is headed for the slaughterhouse, as confirmed by his BACON.

Of course, Ben's defense would be that if you trust in rebates you'll get what you deserve.

These are great drives - I have had 8 for a long time (over a year perhaps?) and they are all in great shape.

The seagates hold up better when you step on them though.
