Newegg has the Western Digital Caviar Green WD10EADS 1TB 32MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive for $85 - $10 coupon code 24HRSALE11B [Exp 11/11] + $0 shipping = $75 shipped. These drives use less power and operate at lower temperatures and acoustics than standard desktop drives.

    Assume these are 5400 rpm?

I think is 5400rpm to 7200rpm depends on the transfer load.
but if just for plain storage need, this is a good deal.

The RPM on these drives is a constant rate somewhere between 5400 and 7200. WD refuses to publish a specific number. Most "experts" believe the RPM is closer to 5900 RPM.

If you are looking for performance look to the Caviar Black line of drives or the Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 drives. If money is not a concern then go get a bunch of SSDs.

looks like this might be good in my Tivo, don't need the performance in it anyway and should run cooler and quieter.

They are 5400 RPM, "most experts" don't think they are 5900.

i got this sometime last year when it was still selling for around $100. works great for me, but it's a storage drive in my system. if that's what you're looking for, then this works great.
