Funny how technology and prices change. I remember paying $200 for a 1gb HDD.

I remember paying $1000 for one. Anyone remember RLL controllers. Double your capacity. Bulletin Boards. Amiga 500? My first PC was a Commodore PC-10 Colt for which I paid $500 to have a 30 meg hard drive installed into.

I recall Maxtor's ad campaign touting their drives cost about "$1 per MEGAbyte." At that cost $85 for 1,000,000 MBs seems like a pretty good deal.

How about an IBM 2315 disk cartridge: 14", 1MB (capacity, not cache), 1,500 rpm, 0.07MB/sec transfer rate, price... ? and it sounded like a chainsaw.

I remember scratching 0's and 1's into the hard shell of a prehistoric tortoise and training it to walk to my friend Grog's house. Once I painted a picture of a sabretooth tiger on it and wrote "0101100011011000010110111000101101000011000010111101000100000
    011011010110000101011011010110111101110100011010000010110001001110101

I remember posts like above everytime someone remembers something about prices of storage. BTW, these drives rock! This is my third in a 4-bay SATA to USB external bay.

    I remember when #12 told $11 to "Go F [him]self. haha".

I also remember when I almost instantly reminisced. It was great.
