At USB 2.0 speeds, a 512 byte buffer is all that's necessary, so 4 sectors worth is overkill.

Sweet! The first USB powered 1TB drive that seems to come in a standard 2.5" Notebook drive size. The price looks fair too.

How soon before we can see bare 1TB Notebook drives in the $100-125 range? Maybe Black Friday 2010, perhaps?

costco has seagate 1tb portable hd with a case for $150. wd portables are more popular and this 1tb is much smaller than the seagate 1tb.

yeah, that's what I said. This is an actual Standard 2.5" size, by the looks of it, while the previous posts of high capacity portable drives were of odd proprietary sandwiching experiments (880GB... wtf.)

This is a 5200 RPM 12.5mm height drive. It falls under the category of laptop size, but it's actually a bit bigger than most laptops have space for at 9.5mm. Still seems like a pretty decent deal for those who have to have absolitely everything with them on a portable drive.
