In the year 2009 #1 must have found a way to send a 500GB notebook drive back in time to himself. Awesome.

No way~ #1 really is an rodeo cowboy, he should send back a lottery number, not a 2.5" 500GB Hard drive.

Dosent it seem as if everytime a 2.5" drive is listed the first post is always something stupid such as #1s comments. Look before posting.

I got a seagate 160gig for my notebook about 6 months ago for $120ish. Not a bad price on this one. I may be mistaken, but some systems may not be able to recognize past 130 gig, something to do with the 32 vs 64 bit os. Dunno, if thats still an issue, just something to think about.

Many of the new servers use these 2.5" drives and it
250g is the biggest I've seen soo far. The size and
price have kept me from upgrading to a newer HP/Compaq
server that has a shelf full of 2.5" drives.

Not sure if they are built for higher tolerances since
an array in a enterprise server on constantly for years
(so long as power and environmental requirements are met).

#7: There are now 320GB 2.5" drives shipping (the WD32000BEVT, for example).

#8: Yes, surprisingly some of the internal versions are more expensive than their external counterparts. One problem with removing one from a case, however, is that you probably void the warranty that way.

Will there ever be a 2.5" drive posting that doesn't feature somebody complaining that 3.5" drives are cheaper?
