    not really worth it, unless you hold blu ray disc in there and do not use a desktop

    I use a 160GB version of this (Black case though) to hold VM's for work - it's close to full most of the time. It's amazing how fast you can chew up space on VM's. As #9 implies, these rock as a way to augment your laptop, and are also fabulous for moving very large files around assuming you don't have a fast network connecting the drives in question (for example, I move VM's or dev software to my dev boxes at home). You can move 10 or 20GB onto one of these dives fairly quickly (like 10 min to copy 15GB if I remember correctly).
