Good drive, but a little on the small side compared to newer models. I think I would buy this for $70-75 but not this price.

Agree with sirkipp that this is a bit expensive for this size drive (250GB) but I have two of these and they're great in terms of portability.

$87.00 is a little bit too high for 250G..

nothing special, if you don't need the software that comes with these things you can almost always make one cheaper by buying an external enclosure and hard drive separately. Plus, then you don't have to worry about voiding a warranty if you want to remove the hard drive.

I find it interesting that as most other drives are falling in price where these have remained fairly steady??

I got the 160GB version of this drive at Costco a few years ago for $89. The neoprene zippered case it comes with is excellent!

Good portability and performance. I would recommend a case as it has a shiny surface which can be easily scratched.

I dont think WD has the best quality but their return service is excellent. You get 3 years manufactures warranty. when it fails , all you have to do is go to their website and and find your s/n number on the drive. Required is a 20 word explanation and BAM!! no hassle. the best return service I had besides Microsoft product. Microsoft doesn't even care about sending your mouse to them. Just call them and they will send you another one. =0

and I bought this HD 2 months ago from amazon (with gift card). It's working pretty well, reading/writing speed is okay.

I guess we must have received part of a bad batch of these at work. We have had nothing but problems with the 2.5" WD drives and have since moved to Seagate after numerous failures.

Great drive. But remember to reformat it to NTFS to have files larger than 4Gigs.
