Possibly in-store only. Staples.com has the Western Digital 400GB Elements External Hard Drive for $95 - $45 rebate [Exp 9/22] = $50 with free shipping. This hard drive features an average seek time of 8.9ms. [BizRate]

The weekly Staples newspaper ad says that this is in store only and may not be available at every store.

How can I check if it's available at stores in my area?

Kind of a smart-ass answer, but, actually, you can save a trip(s) and call customer service (1–800–3STAPLE, 1–800–378–2753) with the sku number and they will be able to tell you the number of units in the surrounding stores. Best of luck!

No longer even on the Staples website, as far as I can tell.

Guese I am the lucky one. Just got two of these in the store nearby. Limited 10 per address. Ends up 13 cents per GB (including local tax), plus free enclosures. Very sweet!

It is a GREAT price sure, but only 8mb cache... so that blows.

16 or 8 MB cashe doesn't effect performance that much. USB is the bottleneck anyway. Get one if you can at this price. It would be nice if it had Firewire or ESATA too for more speed.

Got one at a nearby Staples. It was not on display but it was advertised in their sale brochure. Had to ask about it at checkout where a clerk retrieved it from a stock room.
