You call this a deal? Two weeks ago they had the 1TB WD Mybook for 109 shipped. Unless I am missing something this is a horrible price????
2.5" vs. 3.5", still not a good deal anyway.
Yep, apples and oranges. This is a very portable drive that requires only USB power. Fits in a pocket and is designed to be used as such. The Mybook is an EXTERNAL drive, not to be confused with a portable drive. I think this is an OK price, not a great deal.
Most everyone has to pay tax on Dell purchases as well so figure that this is more like $105 to $110 final price.
wow a western digital drive inside a western digital branded external drive! who would have thunk it? Not too bad of a deal if for those heading to college and need some backup storage.
This is regular price - not a deal. I got it few months ago and the price I paid is $98.
Unless you got deep discount from Dell, there is no bargains from Dell at all. Dell mark up everything so much so I never buy full price from Dell.
I think most people here agree it's a good but not fantastic price. The cost of storage has been dropping steadily, with the new slimmer 1.5 TB "Seagate FreeAgent Desk" down to $100 (with 5-year warranty). The new WD MyBook 2TB is ~$200 by comparison.
The most redeeming thing about this WD drive is that it's portable. 500GB is about the largest capacity available in 2.5" drives.
I bought a 1 tb for this price, wd my book.
No deal - I got this last month for $70 OTD from Staples.
