Seems too high. These should be under $75 now adays
#1: where can you get a 500GB for under $75?
i looked all around and just got one on an ebay auction for $107 delivered. This is not a bad price from a retailer.
These JUST hit stores less than two months ago and people are crying that they are too expensive? The price drops when drive capacities increase. The 320's have dropped considerably, but you're not going to see the 500's drop much until something bigger hits the shelves.
This is a 2.5" drive, $115 is a good price for the highest capacity 2.5 available. Just paid $120 a couple days ago, and that was the lowest price I found from a dealer at the time.
Yes, this is a pretty good deal: you can get the drive bare for $109 shipped
Good deal. Don't forget 7% with Live
I checked on neweggs and this has mixed review of failing. I bought a seagate 2.5" free agent go 500gb for cheaper and it has better reviews (110 dollars at frys).
Both have 5 year waranties. I must admit that the western digital is slightly smaller but the seagate is just as slick looking.
like #8 said, WD passport drives have a bad track record. i personally know 3 people who had a WD passport that crapped out on them...usually within the first couple months. i don't know if it's because they take them around with them everywhere or if it's because these portable 2.5 drives are all like that. i have one myself here at work. been ok for the past year but just last week, one of my backup images stopped working. still trying to figure out if it's the drive or not. it's great for portable mass storage but use this like you would use a ftp site...only for temp transfers
#8 and #9, what are you two smoking? did you guys read the reviews on newegg? WD have a much better review, with less failure rate

I don't know about you guys, but 81% seemed higher than 58%. just saying
there is 107 dollars in Amazon.com.
There are some pretty bad reviews of the MyBook 500GB external on costco.com - I don't know if it's fair to judge this drive on those comments but I would look into it a little more before I trusted this unit with my data.
#10, what are you smoking? those links are for notebook harddrives. This is an external portable harddrive.
