i went ahead and just bought mine from westerndigital. they actually have some ok deals on either refurbished or if you go to the outlet and use the WDTHANKS code or whatever. they actually ended up giving me free 2 day air shipping as well

this "Elite" version has 5 year warranty
Used the 320GB version before, it runs pretty fast and doesn't get hot even after 1 hr runnung
If they don't charge tax, it could be one of the lowest price 500GB 2.5" portable drive yet.
