Passport drives are a good fit for those netbooks which don't have enough disk storage. You just carry it when you need it.
Waiting for this <$100.
I have one of these(160GB version), and its pretty handy. Its great for bringing stuff home form work and I also have programs installed to it so I don't have to have it installed on all my computers. i don't notice a huge difference between the 5400 and the 7200 for most applications either.
Little slow at 5400 RPM, just don't try and run applications from it.
Green applications are good to run from external drives.
I just got the 320 passport. Great device. just what i needed. my c://drive crashed but not until sometime after i backed everything up and i was able to save all my files , photos, art, music etc. hooray for external storage.
great time machine back up disk
Awesome deal on huge storage. This drive is small, and powered by the USB port. So much less hassle then the 3.5 models that require external power sources and are bulky. I carry this thing with me everywhere. Also has decent encryption software for important things.
i have the 320gb version, and im eying this one, they are great.
...id rather wait and get the Elite version
waiting for SSD in this capacity and price range. just lost 400gb wd elements and dont feel like buying anything with moving parts anymore.
