I don't like...
...western digital crap.
This is the "green" low-power model. A new improved version is out, the WD10EADS.
#1...what a waste of 2 posts, nice job
#4... either you're complimenting him, or you missed the point of his posts.
they just jacked the price up $20. No deal ben.
# 5 - you confused me...
#1 is making fun of the seagate troll.
#7...I speak in riddles.
Just ask my kids.
i speak in morals.
anything about this drive?
power consumption is sacrificed by performance
To hell with the drive, what's up with the Seagate Troll? I thought Seagate was well regarded and have lots of Western Digital trouble over the years. Am I wrong?
The caviar black is the way to go for speed right now, but I think the Samssung spinpoint F1 is much cheaper and only a little slower. This thing spins down to 6400 RPM, how does that affect its overall spead?
I have two of these in a mirrored external NAS and they are perfect for what I need. They are fast enough for 100 MBPS ethernet between server and desktop for large transfers (Ie. the network is the bottleneck, not the disk or server). I have never had problems with WD from a quality standpoint.
