    I picked up a pair of WD10EACS drives a year ago, when they were $250-ish. I run them as a pseudo-mirrored pair in UnRAID, and they've served me well. They're not the fastest, but I don't care about the speed of my bulk storage, and they're still way faster than the previous generation of drives.

    They are incredibly quiet, and they draw very little power so they run cool, which keeps fan speeds low, further reducing noise. You have to get within about 2 feet of the box to tell it's even on. I love these drives and just bought a third, to grow the array. Haven't gotten around to that project yet, though.

    the question is... how do you know if there's still fund available? Sounds like a scam to me, people can easily just place order and they can easily claim that the fund ran out.
