#3, you have to also look at the cache size and drive RPM, This is a fast and reliable drive for the price.
Well #4, there's 2TB drives from Hitachi, Seagate and Samsung that have 64MB, 7200rpm, and cost $100-ish.
What makes the Caviar Black exclusive is the Dual-processors and improved Reading-head/Balancing features. Great if you plan to make it your Primary drive. However, as just an occasional use storage drive, the difference isn't worth it.
