This drive is $180 at Amazon everyday. I'm finding it harder and harder to shop at Newegg these days when they leave you hanging if you have a problem. It makes me sad when I see a company like Newegg go from what they used to be to what they are now.

Sadly have to agree that NewEgg is not what it used to be. Oh well, life goes on. Amazon seems to be a safer place to shop. This is a good drive by the way; I have had a few of these for over two years now with no issues. The only thing is that I paid less for them.

Just searched for this in my order history on Newegg, and on 4/12/11 I bought 2 of these for work for $169.99 each. No coupon code was used then, but at least prices are starting to get back to normal, I guess.

They've been damn fine drives, never a problem so far, and backed by a 5 year warranty.

Strange, I don't find Newegg service to be anything other than painless and effective.

Newegg is still great, except if you have an issue w/a drive and then you have to pay for return shipping, wait for them to receive it, their internal processes to acknowledge the return and then send a new drive to you. I paid $230 for one of these a few weeks back from a local joint when they were listed at $210 on Newegg just so I didn't have to sweat the return process.

Of course, seeing the price drop like this soon after making my purchase isn't very enjoyable either... Sad

Amazon is far superior when it comes to receiving defective stuff. You use the Help -> Contact Us link and e-mail them the issue, and let them know you'd like a replacement, and they send it off right away, no questions asked. They give you all of the paperwork to send the defective item back at your leisure, and even include a pre-paid shipping label. That simply rocks.
