The "green" line of drives run very cool, compared to other 1+TB drives out there. The Seagates, as of early last year, could cook a 7 course meal and heat the house; those always heated my NAS 'till it was warm to the touch.

seems a fair deal. the seagate 7200.11s burned me pretty bad. Won't be buying seagate for a while.

Too much! Deal for me would be 85 bucks for this. I don't need it, just want it so I will wait.

This won't be $85 anytime soon. Those people that do need this it looks like a good deal for a storage drive and its made by WD.

In my opinion, the deal for two 1.5TB Seagates at $200 from about a week or two ago was better. Also, from what I've read, the WD Green line of drives are not good for RAID setups.

1.5 will be at $80-85-ish on sales in the near future, tho not as std. retail price. Demand won't support the list prices.

Seagate has a 5 year warranty and costs less. This one is 3 years. All drives die so which would you use?

I thought Seagate changed their warranty to 3 years not too long ago?
Anybody know when the 1.5TB black edition will be out?

I thought the same thing #10, when I bought the 1.5tb Seagate at French Fries for $114 when it was on sale last week and the retail box says 5 year warranty. Maybe the OEM drives are the ones with 3 year warranties?
