Starting to dump the 3.5" 1TB drives, since the 2.5" are starting to ship & don't need the external power.

if you're adding one to a console...get the ones with external power.
too many premature deaths result from trying to power external devices via USB.

Lowest price I've seen for a 1TB external HD and WD is a good brand IMO. Would buy if I needed one.

This is a good price and a nice drive, but if you don't need the enclosure you are better off buying a bare drive. This one has a 1 year warranty and bare drives usually have 3-5 years depending on the unit. I use a docking station and buy cheap bare drives. Be sure to watch for static before you handle the bare drives though.
