NewEgg.com has the Western Digital Elements 1TB USB 2.0 External Hard Drive (WDE1U10000N) on sale for $150 with free shipping. It has a metal case for extra data protection, and uses a 3.5" Western Digital hard drive.

Fifteen cents per gig. Not bad for abrand name external. But only USB2. Would be better if it had eSATA.

    Warranty: one-year. WD sucks.

How bad can it be, right? The reviews on the site seem pretty good. I am shocked that we can get a 1TB external drive for $150. I remember when I got excited about an 80MB drive dropping to $599.

if you can wait for it, BF should have some really good deals on 1 TB drives, bare or external.

ehh.. only one year... i guess this is a lower grade of their products, as some have a 3 year warranty

Yeah this is WD's budget external drive, so 1 year warranty.
