Not a deal. Why? Check the warranty period. It is 1 yr on this.
1) Buy a 640GB 2.5" drive for $80 - with a 3 yr warranty http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822136459
2) Buy a 2.5" enclosure for $15 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817392019
3) 3 minutes of work to slide the drive into the enclosure and screw 2 screws in.
Done.
Would you pay $15 more for a 3 yr warranty instead of a 1 yr warranty on a portable disk drive? I would. Especially on a portable. Personally, drives fail so often that anything less than a 3 yr warranty is just crazy. I still try to always get a 5 yr warranty.
Other offers may also provide 1-click backup software, this one doesn't. That SW could be worth it for 1 out of 100 people. The rest of us can just use free tools like Windows7 Backup or xcopy or rsync or rdiff-backup or . The list goes on and on.
Win7 Backup included with Home Premium and above is really excellent. It is the first time that MS has included backup software that is worth using, IMHO.
