Pretty good deal, the 74GB ones were almost $100 not too long ago.
Fast drive
I paid a whole a lot more for the 74GB pair a long ago... but it STILL too expensive. Esp considering that Samsung F1s give compatible performance... Maxtor are milkin' it for to the last bacon double bacon burger
these are nice and fast, but the new larger drives are so close to them in performance that it's a pretty tough sell these days... the WD blacks a better bang for your buck imo.
I paid $200 for the 150GB Raptor 2 years ago. Very fast, but I think they should be priced less than $140 now
Agreed; not to mention how hot these will run... not worth it.
Got a 74 gb drive a few years ago when SATA was just getting started. It was nice and fast, but now I'd rather have a big quiet Seagate. I did use it for HD recording in my HTPC but these days most drives can handle that already.
Fast? Yes... but mine sounds like a Squirrel on meth.
