^ Why not just get a larger drive instead? Sequential I/O data rate for media files is far lower than any modern HDD can handle, instead you'd pick a 10K RPM HDD for the low latency when dealing with far more non-sequential I/O.
If you were recording multiple streams simultaneously, you'd probably want more than 1TB capacity and you'd have higher performance with more than one HDD as the destinations for different streams.
