Not sure but looks like these are having reliability issues reading the reviews at newegg.
I've been using a 74GB Raptor for 5+ years no problem so not sure whats up with their new models..
I've had mine for about 3 years now and been running fine, it's the 150GB
I've had two 36gb original Raptors in a Raid 0 for 5+ years. Never a hiccup. Powered on 24/7.
Shipping is what's responsible for drives failing 95% of the time. Blame the monkeys at UPS/FedEx. That's why I don't buy OEM.
I had a 150gb raptor (old full 3.5) die after about 2.5 years in a gaming rig; WD replaced with one of the new 2.5 300gb raptors. It wasn't a refurb either, it was a brand new drive. Props to WD and would buy again.
I've had 2 of the 150s fail, and the replacements seem fine. WD does upgrade replacements if the original drive is not available (apparently.) WD replaced both under warranty, but it was a complete PITA, naturally. The RMA process was easy, though. One drive just started slowing down, and I didn't figure out it was the drive right away. Finally, I decided to run their diagnostics and it popped up bad.
either out of stock or bad link. item not found.
Are you guys kidding!!
This is a deal I'd give body parts for!
