    Do not waste your money on this players:
    1. Many TVs have network card now;
    2. Buy ASUS Eee or webbook for $100 more to have full versatility if your TV is old.

    #2 that is not for the Live version. #4,5,&6 it has the same model number, are you sure it's the older one? I was thinking about this, need one for the Living Room, I was also looking at the Asus Oplay. Anyone?

    This is a nice unit that plays xvid/avi and h.264/mkv files just fine. It plays WAV/FLAC/MP3 files without a problem. This unit will also play DTS/WAV files properly, as it simply sends the digital signal out to the amp. Other media devices I have used just play static on the DTS/WAV fiels, as the media unit is mucking with the signal somehow (maybe just volume).

    I also use the unit to play Live365 music streams. The network functions work really well on this unit.

    The biggest video downside is that there is no 'DVD Player' mode in the current firmware. If you try to play a VOB or DVD.ISO file, it will simply play the video in that particular file. There's no menu, so if you've copied a TV disk to your network drive, you have to guess which VOB contains the episode you want to view.

    If you want play music in almost any format or DVD ripss across a home network this thing rocks. If you want to play Blu-ray rips you'll have to move them to an external drive attached to this box.

    "1. Many TVs have network card now; "

    Of course if your TV does not have a "network card" it will cost you a lot more that $95 to buy another TV that does. So that's a pretty nonsensical argument.

    I have one of these and like it. I plan on picking up a second for the TV in the bedroom.
