ok just to clarify I CAN NOT search the internet and see websites with this WD even with an adapter? Would it would be best to get a small net book to do that and leave Ben alone??

Build a HTPC and be done with it! For a media box this is very good with current firmware. For a year it sucked, now it's performing well.

well is doesn't have a web browser, but it does support HDMI or
composite video and RCA audio or Optical audio for:
Blockbuster, Deezer, Facebook, Flickr, Fingo, Live 365, Mediafly, Netflix, Pandora, Tunein radio, and You Tube.
I use it to play ripped DVD VOB files (plays then well.)
Of course it also plays mp4's and other video formats. I have two and love them. I also have and HTPC but rarely use it do the
constant need to update the software.

I have it and really like it. The remote is not awesome, but it will play almost any format.

I bought a programmable remote and that helps.

Got this along with a 16GB USB flash drive and a 10" LCD. Now I can use it in the car for kids movies without having to juggle a bunch of DVD's.
