I purchased three of these in the last week. It is a great improvement over the older model. The user interface is vastly improved, with automatic links to Meta-Data.
how's the netflix interface. netflix on the live plus was horrendous.
And is there custom firmware yet? I saw the GPL code on the WD site, but hadn't heard of anyone using it yet to make firmware. The old Live+ wouldn't play some YouTube content, wouldn't play some in HD, etc. as the firmware was crippled.
How are they at handling 24bit and multichannel FLACs? The old version downsampled 24bit FLACs to 16bit and ignored multichannel FLACs.
The custom b-rad firmware for the original was always piss-poor and performed worse than the factory firmware. Stay away regardless. You had to revert back to an early firmware version for full Youtube support. Bastards changed the terms and subsequent releases crippled the playback in all media players.
