Tiger Direct has the Western Digital WDBHG70000NBK-HESN WD TV Live Streaming Media Player for $100 - $20 off with coupon code UDK69364 [Exp 9/30] = $80 with free shipping (Econo Ship). Features built-in 802.11n Wi-Fi, 1080p output, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Spotify, and Blockbuster streaming, and supports most file formats including MKV, MP4, XVID, AVI, WMV, and MOV via USB.
Can you get a remote such as the one pictured for the android mini computers? Of course you could get a wireless keyboard, but a real remote would be easier to use.
I have three of the WD TV Live Plus players and am very happy with them. Set up my Harmony remotes to use them. I'm considering upgrading to the http://wdlxtv.com/ firmware so I can then also use my smartphone as an interface to them. The older Plus model has better user-community firmware support. This newer player has better support for HD audio formats (think Blu-Ray). I'm not ripping my Blu-Rays yet, so I'm fine with the older model.
Shipping is $7. There is an option for "free shipping" but you have to PAY $50 to be in their "inner circle." Screw that. I'll just buy it from Amazon for $90 with free 2 day shipping (Prime). Saving $3 by going with TigerDirect is not worth it. Ben, you should fix your erroneous free shipping claim.
I have two different older version of this player and have been using them for years. They still rock
im thinking of getting rid of my wdtv live and getting one of those android mini computers
why? I've had mine for over 6 months and have been very happy with it. Mainly do Netflix, Spotify, and my ripped DVDs and MP3s off my NAS.
